Horitzó Àsia is a project spearheaded by the Vic Town Hall, the University of Vic, the Central University of Catalonia, the entrepreneurial agency Creacció and the Nights of Oriental Film Association with the goal of encouraging integrated strategies in relation to Asia that can encourage the economic, social, educational and cultural development of the city of Vic and its region.
Asia encompasses a wide variety of countries and cultures, and for this reason it offers an extremely broad horizon, yet one that is also very attractive and full of potential. The perception that the Horitzó Àsia project aims to convey is both an extraordinarily large geographic vision and the goal of commercial, economic, tourism, cultural and university development by joining forces and creating synergies with different partner organisations and institutions from both here and Asia. Horitzó Àsia also has a very important local component working with the Asian communities here, including people from India, China, the Philippines and Pakistan. Horitzó Àsia is therefore also a chance to strengthen intercultural dialogue and collaboration.
